Cedar described in one word would be: well-rounded. This dog has it all. She is a beautiful redbone that conformationally exceeds the redbone standards in most areas. Her comformation is best shown when she is in motion. Her gait is phenomenal and is accompanied by a pleasing disposition and expression in the show ring. She has done very well in the Show ring as an undefeated Bench Champion and a winner of an all-breed Best in Show. Cedar comes from a well-known line of winning show dogs which have won UKC Worlds, Autumn Oaks, Redbone Days and Winter Classic to name a few. In January 2004, at Winter Classic, 5 out of the six rebone classes were won by siblings or half siblings to Cedar.

In addition to her appearance, Cedar is an excellent hunter. She is able to strike from the box, track and tree her own coon and puts just awesome pressure on the tree. Cedar has always shown amazing amounts of drive in everything she has put her mind to doing. Cedar shows an excellent combination of speed and endurance. She never quits going no matter how difficult things get or how long she has been at it, but is smart enough to know when a track is not workable and does not waste time on it. Cedar is bawl-chop on tree and bawl on track. She has a clear and extremely loud voice that is pleasant to listen to in the woods.

In the area of reproduction, Cedar has proven to be an excellent bitch. The pups she has birthed have been strong in their structure, exceeding the breed standards in most areas, with an awe-inspiring appearance. Not to mention their pleasing dispositon and capability to still do what redbones were originally bred to do. Please see our offspring page to view pictures of dogs she has produced.
